Wedding Photographer Inverness – Achnagairn House

Another wedding at one of my favourite venues, Achnagairn House, near Inverness. This was the wedding of Catriona MacAffer and Rupert Anderson. I’d looked forward to this one for some time, and it was exactly how I expected, really fun and relaxed with amazing people. We had a great day, and it was so relaxed. The weather was also great. It was very hot and sunny in the morning, which wasn’t perfect for me, but by the time of the wedding there was a bit of cloud cover and the light was just perfect.

Catriona plays in  Rhythm N Reel who play at a few weddings I do, so they had no trouble finding a band:)We did a band picture later on with Catriona in her wedding dress.

A great day with lovely people, here are a selection of images.

Wedding Photographer Inverness – Tuscany Wedding Part 2

I was recently very lucky to be chosen to travel to Italy with Lindsay Patterson and Ross Tokely, and their close friends and family, for a very special wedding at Villa Belpoggio in the hills of Tuscany. I have posted previously with the first part of the wedding, so now to the big day itself.

Having met the couple a few times, I knew they’d make a stunning couple, and this added to the excitement. The location was fab, surrounded by beautiful scenery and olive trees, it was going to be great fun! The villa has its own chapel, which was a beautiful little building and added to the feeling of intimacy and kept the whole thing very private. As Lindsay got ready, I think the general reaction once she had her dress on was WOW from everyone. Ross scrubbed up pretty good as well;). It was hot. I think someone mentioned it was around 40 degrees, and of the 4 days we were there it was the hottest day, which was a bit uncomfortable as it was the only day we couldn’t wear shorts. The guys in their highland dress must have been absolutely roasting!

The ceremony was beautiful. Very emotional and there were a few more tears. We then had a shoot around the villa before sitting for a lovely meal on the lawn. The speeches followed and there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire group as some of them were very moving. At one point I had tears running down my cheeks as Lindsay’s sister Shannon gave a moving impromptu speech and reduced everyone to tears.

We then did the family pictures with the sun setting behind them, before heading on to the dance. The band were amazing! I sat listening to them long after I’d put my cameras away for the night, and the dancefloor was constantly bouncing, especially Ross and his dad Jim, who were competing for the title of best dancer in the family I think.

This truly was a very special wedding and a lovely trip. New friends were made and hopefully we have captured some amazing memories for everyone.

Wedding Photographer Inverness – Tuscany Wedding Part 1

I recently travelled to Tuscany to photograph the wedding of Lindsay Patterson and Ross Tokely from Inverness. Ever since Lindsay contacted me a year before I’d been excited about this one. I’d never been to Italy so to be going over to shoot a wedding was a great thrill.

We all set off on the Monday afternoon on a very entertaining bus trip to Edinburgh before flying out on Tuesday morning. The first part of the wedding was the legal part in a local village Castelfranco Di Sopra not far from Villa Belpoggio where the group were staying. It was an intimate little ceremony with just the couple and their best man Richie and bridesmaid Kirsty. A few tears were shed and then we had a short photoshoot around the village which was fun.

Some pictures from Wednesday, wedding to follow!

Wedding Photography Dunrobin Castle

Back to my favourite castle Dunrobin, in Golspie for Morag Keating and Ryan Abernethy’s wedding, The couple live in Inverness but Morag is from Golspie, Ryan is from Northern Ireland originally. A beautiful day again, bright sunshine and everyone was happy! Even me!

Morag got ready at her parents home in Golspie before being transported to the castle in a 1972 soft top VW Beetle, while her mother and the bridesmaids arrived in a 1973 VW Camper Van. Very cool vehicles from Dubz For Hire in Glasgow.

The wedding was a humanist ceremony conducted by the locale Penelope Hamilton and as usual it was a lovely occasion, with tears and laughter all round. We then had a photo session in the grounds of the castle before heading to the Carnegie Hall, Clashmore for the reception.

Wedding Photographer Inverness – Piriyah and Will part 2

Following Piriyah and William’s wedding photography at Keiss Castle, I travelled to Wiltshire the next weekend to photograph their wedding reception which was held at the farm of friends of Williams and was great fun. Cricket, good food, great beer and cider, lamb roasts and lots of laughter, made for a great day.

Wedding Photographer Caithness – Keiss Castle wedding

Keiss Castle in Caithness was the chosen venue for the wedding of Piriyah Sivagnanam and William Sinclair. It was the first time the castle had hosted a wedding, and only because William was a family friend, and has Caithness family connections. It’s a stunning location, and I was ddelighted to be shooting there. We did a pre wedding shoot two days prior, and it was freezing cold, windy and drizzling. Fast forward to Friday and it was the hottest day I can remember in Caithness in years. I think it was 25 degrees at one stage. So amazing to be shooting locally on a day like that with deep blue skies to contrast with Piriyah’s beautiful red  sari and Williams predominantly red Sinclair tartan kilt. The day ended with the couple leaving in Dan Mackenzies Peterbilt truck

The day was great fun and very relaxed throughout and we had a great laugh doing the photography and video. The reception was held down in Wiltshire and I’ll cover it in a post later.

Some pictures from the wedding day.

EDIT: Unfortunately I have been told to remove the interior images from the wedding, so apologies if this is one wedding post which doesn’t have a wedding in it.

Inverness Wedding Photographer – Ness Castle Lodges

I was lucky enough to be back at Ness Castle Lodges recently to photograph the wedding of Tina Sutherland and Graham Ramsay. The couple live in Aberdeen but Tina is from Inverness, and the wedding was held in a marquee at this beautiful location on the banks of the River Ness. The weather was pretty poor leading up to the day but we were extremely lucky on the day and the heavy rain seemed to fall everywhere apart from where we were! Tina got ready at her parents home up at Old Town of Leys, and we then made our way down for the ceremony before heading back to the gardens up at her parents for some photos of the couple and bridal party.

A lovely day, with a lovely group of people, and much fun, especially in the evening as the Champions League Final was on and there was a lot of laughs during that.

Some pictures from the day:
