Wedding Photography Highlands – Louise and Don, Strathpeffer.

This was a Thursday wedding at the Ben Wyvis Hotel, Strathpeffer, where Louise Farquhar and Don Sutherland were married. The couple had a small family wedding and then had a reception up in Wick the following week at the Norseman Hotel. This was a really fun day, and we ended up doing some really cool stuff in a graveyard, where we tried to create a’Twilight’, or ‘True Blood’ feel to some of the images. Absolutely delighted with how they turned out. It was a lovely relaxed day amongst friends. I was lucky enough to meet up for a night out with Louise and Don on their honeymoon in Thailand as well, which was fantastic.

Here are some images from the wedding day:

Wedding Photographer Inverness – Sharon & Mark, Culloden House

Another lovely September day, this time at Culloden House Hotel, for the wedding of Sharon Kemp and Mark Vickerman.  The day began at the couple’s home, where Sharon and the girls were getting ready, before we headed over to Culloden for the wedding.  This was another first – the groom arriving by helicopter, which certainly caused a stir! It was a lovely day, and we got some great images in and round Culloden House, before heading over to the Drumosie Hotel for the reception.

Wedding Photography Inverness – Loch Ness Country House Hotel, Louise and Adrian

This was an incredible day. Several firsts for me, including the first time a bride has piped herself down the aisle and the first time there’s been Star Wars Stormtroopers at a wedding.

Louise Hay and Adrian McBain were married at Loch Ness Country House Hotel, one of my favourite venues. Louise is a musician, and this meant a big emphasis on that side of her life. It was amazing to see her pipe herself down the aisle to suprise Adrian, and despite nerves, she did it brilliantly. It was a real fun day, and this was added to by the appearance of members of the 99th Garrison, a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who spend their time raising money for charity in their costumes. They travelled up from the North East of England and certainly added a talking point to the day. I even ended up in one of the helmets myself.  It was a dull day but it stayed dry for us to get out for photographs. The speeches were great, and Adrian delivered one of the funniest groom’s speeches I have ever heard. The music was by The Scone Fairies, the band Louise plays in, so I’m sure a great time was had by all.

Professional Imagemaker Magazine Feature

I had an article published in the October issue of Professional Imagemaker magazine, about shooting drama on location. Professional Imagemaker is the magazine of The Societies

I’m doing a series of 3 masterclasses at The Societies Convention in January in London, one of which will cover this topic.

Here is the 5 page article.

Wedding Photography Helensburgh – Bev and Colin

A trip to Helensburgh this time, for the wedding of Beverly Toner and Colin Lynch. The wedding was at Rhu and Shandon Parish Church, with the reception at Rosslea Hall Hotel, which is where Bev and her bridesmaids got ready. I started with them before heading to church. It was a glorious day, but the clouds started to gather as we came out of church and we got a couple of brief showers, but it didn’t last long and we were lucky enough to get to continue shooting in the grounds of Hill House, before heading back to Rosslea again.

Wedding Photography Inverness – Jennifer & Niall at Dalcross Castle

Jennifer Fraser and Niall Farquhar chose the magnificent venue of Dalcross Castle, near Inverness for their wedding. It was a glorious day, and another afternoon when I was thinking it was too nice. We started off with shots in the room before Jen was piped down to the garden for the ceremony by Spud The Piper. Afterwards we had some fun taking photographs around the castle and grounds before heading in to the marquee for speeches, a lovely meal and the dance.
