Valerie & Garry, Thurso

Another Caithness wedding, and my first visit to Thurso West Church in a year. This was the venue for the wedding of Valerie Gilmour and Garry Calder. This was a fun wedding as I knew so many people. I shot Valeries sisters wedding a few years ago, and Garry is a relative, so that meant it was a very nice one for me to photograph. The weather was very nice on the day, slightly overcast, which was ideal for me. After the ceremony we went to Scrabster House for some pictures, which was a new venue for me, and it was great. I loved the big doorway! Then Valerie and Garry went to Old St Peter’s Kirk for a few pictures themselves, again this is a great location and I had a lot of fun there!

What was your favourite moment of the day?

Not one particular moment, was great to have the families together, all the kids, just everyone having a great time, but also getting pampered and spoilt is always great!

What advice would you give to other brides planning their wedding?

Don’t stress too much, it all comes together in the end!

Was there anything you’d have done differently?

Probably not, it was our day and that was how it was meant to be, was pretty perfect for us anyway.
