Fiona & Gary’s wedding at Strathmore Lodge
On the 2nd of July, Fiona Mackay and Gary Manson got married at Strathmore Lodge, which is a remote lodge in a beautiful part of the countryside, not far from Halkirk. When I met Fiona and Gary up there a couple of weeks beforehand we were savaged by huge clouds of midges, so I was well stocked up with industrial size bottles of Avon Skin So Soft, but needn’t have worried, as there was a strong wind, which was a great relief. It was a beautiful day, one of those days where everyone but me is delighted with the bright sunshine. We went up to Loch More for some photographs after the ceremony, which was a great location. The wind was a slight problem in some parts but we found some great areas which were sheltered and I think we got some great stuff. It helps when the bride and groom are both posers…. I mean good in front of the camera…. Seriously, everyone was great fun and really got into what I was trying to do, so I think that shows in the end results.

What was your favourite moment of the day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing Gary’s cheeky smile
What advice would you give to other brides planning their wedding?
Relax, it’s very easy to get caught up in the details of it all but remember the real reason you are getting married – that’s what makes your day extra special
Was there anything you’d have done differently?
Nothing, organising everything ourselves made it so personal and special
Aaaaaaaaaah – love, love, love them John!! You are the best :o)

fab fab photos!! Love the one of you Fiona on the green background! Haha liking John’s comment about the bride and groom being posers!!!! So true! Really like the one of you guys standing at the top of those step things at Loch More – brilliant!

John has captured the stunning-looking young couple, their bridal party and the setting with such passion – the photos are absolute treasures. (agree with Claire about Gary and Fiona at the top of the “step things”, it’s fantastic)
