Loch Lomond Golf Club Wedding Photography

Last week I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding of Emma Perrin and Paul Boyce at the very exclusive Loch Lomond Golf Club, near Luss. As a golf fan, it was a real thrill to work in such a great place having watched the Scottish Open being played there every year. It truly is one of the nicest venues I have been to, and the staff were fantastic as well.

The day began with me joining Paul and some of the guys at the nearby Carrick Golf Course where they were playing a round of golf to help them relax before the main event. I never thought about the choice of footwear, so my Italian leather shoes probably weren’t the best for such a wet course!

Emma was getting ready at the Loch Lomond Spa, so I managed a few shots there before heading back to the the Club for getting ready shots. Emma was in a beautiful room upstairs whilst Paul and the guys were getting ready at the Mens Locker Room which had name plates on lockers which read like a who’s who of world golf.

The wedding was a very emotional affair with a lot of tears being shed (maybe even a sneaky one or two from me) and then it was time to head outdoors to make the most of the great light we were blessed with. I loved this part with so many great places to shoot! I had to make sure I didn’t get too carried away or dinner may have had to have been moved a few hours!

Then it was time for dinner, which I sampled and have to say was amazing. The evening entertainment started with a pipe band playing for the guests, before they headed in for the band The Jay Bees to start up.

It really was an honour to be part of this wedding and it’s one I’ll remember for a long time. Thanks to Emma & Paul for allowing me to be part of their special day, and thanks to Knut, Stefan and the rest of the staff for the great welcome received!

What was your favourite moment of the day? A hard one, a have a few….. They have to be saying our vows, walking around the amazing grounds having our photos taken in some fantastic places, and the piping band playing outside with our family and friends watching from the steps of the house.

What advice would you give to other brides planning their wedding? My advice would be do exactly what you want don’t listen to anyone else, try and keep it between yourself and you partner as it makes it more special. Don’t get caught up with tradition.

Was there anything you’d have done differently?

No we were extremely happy with everything; however maybe taken some time to eat some of our canapés that everyone had said were lovely and we had spent so long choosing!!!
