Wedding Photographer Inverness – Tuscany Wedding Part 2
I was recently very lucky to be chosen to travel to Italy with Lindsay Patterson and Ross Tokely, and their close friends and family, for a very special wedding at Villa Belpoggio in the hills of Tuscany. I have posted previously with the first part of the wedding, so now to the big day itself.
Having met the couple a few times, I knew they’d make a stunning couple, and this added to the excitement. The location was fab, surrounded by beautiful scenery and olive trees, it was going to be great fun! The villa has its own chapel, which was a beautiful little building and added to the feeling of intimacy and kept the whole thing very private. As Lindsay got ready, I think the general reaction once she had her dress on was WOW from everyone. Ross scrubbed up pretty good as well ;). It was hot. I think someone mentioned it was around 40 degrees, and of the 4 days we were there it was the hottest day, which was a bit uncomfortable as it was the only day we couldn’t wear shorts. The guys in their highland dress must have been absolutely roasting!
The ceremony was beautiful. Very emotional and there were a few more tears. We then had a shoot around the villa before sitting for a lovely meal on the lawn. The speeches followed and there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire group as some of them were very moving. At one point I had tears running down my cheeks as Lindsay’s sister Shannon gave a moving impromptu speech and reduced everyone to tears.
We then did the family pictures with the sun setting behind them, before heading on to the dance. The band were amazing! I sat listening to them long after I’d put my cameras away for the night, and the dancefloor was constantly bouncing, especially Ross and his dad Jim, who were competing for the title of best dancer in the family I think.
This truly was a very special wedding and a lovely trip. New friends were made and hopefully we have captured some amazing memories for everyone.
Looks like the hills around Marlia just a few clicks from Lucca…..was it John?
Hi Hamish. It was somewhere between Florence and Arezzo
