Wedding Photography Dunbeath Castle – Debbie & Gary
This was a wedding I had looked forward to for ages. Since October 2011 in fact, as Debbie and Gary had been at the same wedding in Phuket, Thailand and we became good friends over there and had a lot of fun together. We did the pre wedding shoot on the beach over there, so it was great to finally get to photograph their big day.
The wedding was at Dunbeath Castle, one of the more picturesque locations in the North of Scotland, but a place where you need to pray for good weather as it is quite open and exposed if it turns nasty. Not only were we lucky with the weather, but we had one of the most amazing moments I have ever experienced at a wedding. Partly down to Debbie making it into my all time top 5 late brides chart, there was a very special moment, when just as Debbie and Kevin appeared round the corner to walk up the aisle where Gary was nervously waiting, the clouds parted and the most amazing sunshine fell right on them, almost as if it had been a movie script. It was a beautiful moment for everyone, except me who had to very quickly change the settings on my camera by about 4 stops. The wedding was lovely and then we headed down to the castle to shoot some pictures before heading to the Weigh InnĀ in Thurso for the reception.
A great day surrounded by friends and familiar faces.
