Inverness Wedding Photographer – Tanera Mor Photoshoot

Two weeks ago I had a pre wedding shoot up at Oldshoremore Beach, Kinlochbervie, so rather than spend a whole day travelling, I got my official model, Natalie Oag and headed up early. We caught the Isobella from Achiltibuie and sailed around the Summer Isles before landing on the Island of Tanera Mor for an hour. What a great day it was and we got some really lovely images, which was a real buzz. I’ve just shown one for now, as the rest are for use elsewhere first.

SWPP Monthly Competition Judges Choice Award

I was surprised to receive a letter and cheque today from the SWPP after winning the judges choice award for the February monthly competition. I had no idea my image had been picked from all the Gold awards that month so a nice little surprise. I have only entered the competition once in the last 16 months so very pleased with that. This was the winning image.

Master Photographers Association Scotland Awards

I have just returned from a great day at Dunblane, where I attended the MPA (Master Photographers Association) Scottish Regional awards. The day started off with a seminar by one of my all time favourite photographers, Andy Earl, who is a legend in music photography. It was one of the best seminars I have been to, and an inspiration throughout. The guy has been there, and done just about everything you can dream of in the music world.

The awards were keenly contested with almost 1000 entries this year, and having looked around the displays, there were a lot of amazing images. I was absolutely delighted to come away with 5 different awards, including Fashion Photographer of the Year and Contemporary Portrait Photographer of the Year. The full list was as follows:

Merit Award in Fashion & Glamour

Award of Excellence in Classic Wedding

Fashion & Glamour – Photographer of the Year

Contemporary Portrait – Photographer of the Year

Complete Portrait (panel of 6 images from one shoot) – Photographer of the Year

I was totally surprised and absolutely delighted to do so well, as I wasn’t expecting anything.

It was a great day and lovely meet so many great people, and I made some new friends as well as meeting some old ones (well not old folk, but people I have known for ages).

BIPP Scotland Awards

Just back from Loch Lomond where I was attending the Scottish Region of the British Institute of Professional Photographers annual awards. The day was great, and scorching hot. The main event of the day was a seminar with Marko Dutka and Nikki Donnovan, and then that was followed by the awards presentations. I was delighted to have 4 images chosen for the finals, and even more delighted when it was announced I had won the portrait category with a fashion image of Natalie from earlier this year.
